I'm starting to get more serious in my search for my next vehicle and a used 4th gen Toyota 4Runner is at the top of my list, so I figured I'd hop on the forum to learn more and get some first hand info from current owners before I make such a big purchase.
As you can tell from the screenname, I'm a dog person.
I train dogs professionally and compete in a variety of sports, so that plays a huuuge role in determining my next vehicle. I calculated it up recently and dogs are riding in my vehicle for at least 15,000 miles annually!
The 4Runner has caught my eye due to its cargo dimensions behind the second row (I need to fit two crates side by side in the cargo area with room for passengers still), the nifty back window (handy for use at trials and ventilation on the road), reputation for durability (I beat up my cars with the dogs and all the events and hiking spots we travel to, too), and the fact that it's not your average "mom car". I am so not a minivan person lol!
I'll probably lurk mostly, but don't be surprised if you see a thread or two related to dogs and the 4Runner in the future.
Feel free to direct me to the best places to find this sort of info already posted, though I'll also be doing a search myself, too.
