Hello T4R.org!
My name is Dan.
Mid-thirties guy from Orleans Ontario Canada.
I've already posted a few pics of the T4R I recently purchased, but I might as well make this thread for a proper introduction.
First off, let me preface this by saying that this purchase flings me into a lot of new territory.
It is my first 4x4
It is my first RWD vehicle
It is my first V6 vehicle (always had I4 FWD cars before).
and this is only the 4th vehicle I have ever owned.
My wife has a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire GT (although it is now for sale) and a 2010 Toyota Matrix XRS which is our main daily driver.

Alright , well enough about me. Here's what I know about my rig from the Previous Owner:
1997 Toyota 4Runner V6 Limited 4x4 w/E-Locker
283,000 kms (176,000 miles)
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, but was moved to Ontario around 2005.
Fully loaded Limited trim (except keyless entry for some reason)
Everything works except for the rear lift gate that doesn't open (I'll look into this in the spring). (UPDATE: fixed!)
Has the following mods that I know of:
OME 881 Front Coil Springs w/Top Plate Spacer
OME 890 Rear Coil Springs
Tokico Trekmaster Shocks
Front Differential Drop Kit
25mm (1") Hubcentric Wheel Spacers
285/75R16 Treadwright retreads on BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain cores (with matching spare)
MOOG Toyota Tundra Lower Ball Joints & Outer Tie-Rod Ends
Polyurethane Steering Rack Bushings
Sway-Bar Delete (PO gave me the OEM sway-bars, but with missing/broken end links)
Otherwise, it seems to have been very well maintained and cared for and has seen the occasional off-roading excursion (but nothing too hardcore as far as I know) like some rock crawling and light mudding.
A complete Tranny flush was done when the previous owner purchased it (he had done his research on these too).
He also replace the rear axel seals and bearings last year.
The timing belt was last replaced at 103,000 kms (64k miles... it's due, I know)
The front brakes were replaced (rotors and pads) the week before I purchased the rig. I am unsure of Brand.
I came to T4R.org because it seems like a great resource for basically anything I want to know about the T4R and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge and experience here that I can easily tap into.
I don't how much of a hobby Off-Roading will become to me, but I don't intend for my T4R to be a complete poser/city-slicker. I do wanna have some fun with it.
