Hi guys, a couple of maintenance questions...

Hi all, I have a 4cyl. 4runner (manual), with 189k on the clock. I was looking for any guides that might be available on:

1. Replacing the transmission fluid

2. Replacing the differential fluid

3. Replacing clutch fluid

There doesn't seem to be many 4cyl guys on here, but for draining and filling the tranny & differential:

-jack up truck, place on jackstands so the truck is level (all 4 corners), and secure
-remove FILL plug 1st (so you don't drain it and then can't refill it because the plug is stuck)
-remove drain plug and let fluid drain into pan
-replace drain plug, preferably with new crush washer, clean magnet if the drain plug is equipped
-fill via fill hole with appropriate fluid until it flows out the fill hole, replace fill plug with new crush washer

As for the clutch fluid, it's just like bleeding brakes. You'll need a 2nd person to pump the pedal.

Is your truck 4x4?
Drain and fill the transfer case as well.
You might want to grease the drive line too?
