Hi Lift Jack opinion

Could use some help from current Hi Lift jack owners. I want to mount one of these to my bajarack. Bajarack makes mounting brackets so Im covered there. If I would only be using it occassionally, which model of jack do you recommend, and are there any other accessories Hi Lift makes that you feel are "necessities"? Keep in mind, I have a Shrockworks bumper being installed in a couple weeks to which I'll most likely be adding a winch. The folks at Hi Lift recommend the HL485 for my setup.

if u are puttin it on the the rack...get the longer one...i think 60" range. i have the 48" and kind of wish i had the bigger one. just in case. chains, straps, gloves, shackles. everything ur gonna want to have w a winch would b good to have with the hi-lift...also, you may want to consider getting the attachment that is made to lift the vehicle by attaching to the wheel v. the frame/ bumper. so that you can individually lift a tire w/out suspension droop issues. i dont use mine a whole lot, but it has saved me, and many others in some pretty tight situations.

I agree with the Wheel Mate attachment and also the slider attachment if you have sliders.

wait on the bumper to evaluate mounting points

Personally I would await your new bumper and see then if you don't change your mind on where to mount your Hi-Lift.

I use the 48" Xtreme model and can't imagine lifting it and putting it up on the rack-of course there are guys here that put there oversize spares up top as well.

Shawn St. Cyr devised a pretty inexpensive Hi Lift mounting option for the ARB front bumpers- which I then shamelessly copied....I will try to find the link to it real quick.

just dont leave it up there.

As they are already dangerous and much worse when rusted.

Some people mount the main shaft outside and put the ratchet part inside.

love all the suggestions. Spencer appreciate that thought, that is prob what Im going to do. Thanks by the way for the pic too blck, love your rig. I did decide on the 48 vs 60 as the rep at Hi Lift said unless I was lifted REAL high the 48 is more than ample.

When I had a 48", I mounted it inside. Good friend of mine had his mounted on his rack (LOCKED no less) and still had it stolen. From then on, I swore I'd never mount it on the rack.
