Hid 2005 4r

I order type 9006 HIDs from ddmtuning. I bought HIds from them before for other vechicles and they worked great. I'm having troubles installing these ones. Anyone here order and install them without any problems?

what year is your 4R? well usually you plug the stock connector into the HID connector and connect everythign else as usual. I did this first and nth worked. Then i searched ddm's website and there's a special instruction note, which they should've included in the frigging package. anyway it says that the conenctor from the HId headlight is useless, so basically you're supposed to plug the stock connector directly into the ballast. i also did this and the hid wouldnt fire up. I was only in the testing the HID process before installing them all in.

Was there a problem with my install?

i know its a stupid question, but do you have your polarity right? on the 9006 most HID kits fit both ways. mine did and it caused the problem on one headlight. once i figured it out i corrected it and wa-la

funny thing is my buddy said the exact same thing, i did not try it yet... question is why woudl reversing the polarity work? Isn't that a last case scenario? would you screw up your ballast if you did that?

if they are wrong then the lights wont come on. it shouldnt screw up the ballast. it didnt in my case at least. it can on some stuff you put in your car like an amp or something but headlights should be fine

DDM kits have external ignitors. The OP said he had unused plugs in his PM.

stock harness--->DDM ballast --->DDM ignitor--->bulb

yes they do have external ignitors, they are pre connected. I Have a pic i can post later if you want to see. But i have to wait til this weekend to install. Hopefully warmer weather and clean car.
