HID conversion or silver star bulbs

which one should I go with??? Ive researched them on burtmans page but I cant make up my mind. some of you have one and some have the other and I was wondering which one you guys would go with for the looks and for the money....

i would have to say hid if you have the money. you will spend just as much money replacing the stars as you would one time buying the hids, plus they look sexy as hell...ahha good luck and good modding.

for the best light you'll want to be in the 4-5000 range. once you start going any higher you start losing light output. Plus the color starts to get bluish/purple.

To your original question, there is no comparison to the light output of an HID bulb and a silverstar.

I had silverstars, and not too impressed. Light output is about the same as stock. They do look whiter, but that's about it. The most common complaint on the silverstars is they only last about a year.

if you have the money go with a 4300K kit...best light output.

Im in your same spot, right now ive got the silverstars and they are a vast improvment over stock but i really want the higher lumen output.

How does one install the HID on an 05' as we don't have the projector headlights? Is there a mod of some sort to convert our headlights so they can take the light better?

Be careful with a HID kit as it appears you have an '05 per your sig, which does not have projectors. Do some research on HID installs in the reflector housing you have on your '05 by other members here. There are mixed results as glare seems to be a big problem with HID's installed in the reflector housings.

I don't know about you guys, but I get annoyed as hell whenever someone is driving behind me with HIDs. Seems like if you modify your lights for that, it's not going to be as controlled as factory installed, and chances are you're just going to piss off a lot of drivers, and potentially lead to accidents.
