HID headlight turns off, need help

I own a 2006 SR5. 2 years ago, I installed 6500K H11, low beam (projection). Now, my left projection headlight turns off by itself. When I turn the light switch off then on again, the left headlight illuminates again but for a while, then shuts off again.

I checked for loose wires and they seem well fit. One thing I noticed, is that the light is weaker on the left low beam.

What would be the cause of this? Is it the relay?

Switch the bulbs from left to right.

I had itchy hands one day & went to touch my HID set up. Later on the left side was completely out. So I thought the bulb blew out, I swapped it from left to right, just to confirm it was out & not a bad ballist...low & behold, it lit up.

So my conclusion was...just a loose connection.

I know you mentioned that you already checked the connection...but are you really sure they are tight?

might be the drls affecting the one bulb, happened to my friends wrx. but it hinkt 4runners dont use the lows as drls.

No it doesn't. The corner front lights are the drl.

I checked my wires. they are tight. I'm afraid to take it somewhere, they usually make the issue bigger than it is to over charge you.

-what brand of HID did you install?

-do what Kenny (KC) posted. Start with something easy, if the bulbs behave the same after switching, its not the bulb.

-my guess is the ballast. because the bulb is not as bright and occasionally fails to light. a relay would effect both lights
