HID or LED

I’m not certain if I’ve just become bored or am seeking something more useable than my Light Force 240 HID’s. While in my opinion there is nothing better for long range lighting, I don’t find myself using them as much. I mean even on the interstate at 3am between somewhere and no where there are cars or trucks for the most part and using such a bright long range light becomes dangerous. I’ve often thought about switching to LED like a 10 or 20” double row with a spot/flood combo. Amber would be nice but not useful in all applications (another reason the LF240’s or any LF with lenses is a +). Range would need to be less, as I do not drive over 70mph at night when animals may be present; the LF 240’s could easily handle higher speeds as you cannot seem to outrun the light.

Thoughts, trades, demo trades……..

Do you have projector HID's yet? I have the 50watt conversion. I also looked into a LED bar, and was rather disappointed with it's output when I tested out the 30" next to my projectors. I do a lot of night wheeling, and have not found myself needing more then my HID conversion.

A friend of mine suggested this as well. And I think I found a kit for $800. I'd be interested in some nice clear projectors and quality bulbs and ballasts. But again it's another $1k into the rig. I've considered OSRAM 70/60 Rallye bulbs and will likely replace my IPF X4's soon.

I was more interested in just replacing the auxillery lights at this point but something to consider none the less.
