HID Projector Retrofit

So I want to do a HID mod the right way with projectors meant to work with HID. I found a website that sell the mods as a complete package or in parts. This is what I'm looking at:Low beam TSX Stage III Kit - Complete Kits from The Retrofit Source LLC

Anyone here have any experience with this company? Seems like they know what they are doing as far as retrofit ideas.

I talked to Matt On the Phone today. Really helpful and had answers to all my questions. Looks like a good product although a little pricey. You get what you pay for. If only I could Find a wrecked tsx or tl to cut the price down a bit.

That price doesn't seem too bad considering everything that you get. I think that getting the lenses and housings should really improve the performance over kits that just use a replacement bulb in your factory housing.

I don't know too much about these HID upgrades yet, but I seem to grow more interested with every new thing I learn!

I am doing a retrofit on a new set of light right now using TSX projectors, not sure how long it will take.

The shop that is doing them have not given me a time frame yet.

That price is not bad considering what I am paying, but I am also having them paint it black and a few other things.

Retrofit Source is a great place to buy HID parts, thats where I picked up my TSX projectors. If I were you I would steer clear of TSX and go for something like FX-R or better yet TLs. Trust me, you will want bi-xenons down the road.

you have to cut pieces they are not Plug n play

yes, you have to open your OEM headlights

measure everything out precisely where projector will sit and how you going to mount it and cut the holes

mount projector inside and test it for alignment

then mount a shroud to projector and seal the headlights back together

...and voila! We have a set of retrofited HID projectors

it really is! 10 hours of work max (including testing) and you will never look back to halogens or HID kits in OEM housings. No previous experience required, if you know how to operate dremel and screwdriwer you can get it done, just browse HIDPlanet forum prior for inspiration and all answers for the questions you might have down the road. Performance of dedicated HID projectors at night is hard to beat. But I wish now I opted for a set of bi-xenon projectors. TSX is ok and easy to mount but there is better projectors out there.

wow that is alot of work and money. i have the aftermarket projectors and they suck. both projectors popped out of the socket so now they point at the ground and they aren't sealed good enough so every time it rains, moisture gets in the housing.

like mentioned earlier i wonder if can find a wrecked one for half the price?
