HID relays

Im ordering hid kits from DDM for my lows and fogs. Do I need to buy relays for the low beams and fogs? just lows? none at all? not very familiar. couldnt find any answers searching

They should already include relays...you need them to fire up.

All of them.

And be sure you have a Wire Harness that can support the Initial Startup for the bulbs.

They start up bright & 35w when running on Operating Temp.

Some people have done it w/o the Wire Harness...hey, it's not my truck.

I looked and couldn't find any clear answers either. I ordered two kits...both without the wire harness and realized very quickly though that I **should** have ordered the harness kits. I have 55w for the lows and 35w for the fogs.

I did low beam, high beam, and fogs with out any kind of relay or harness and they have done just fine. Cars that usually REQUIRE relays are vehicles that have sensor to tell when the headlights are out ETC. With my Audi I had to have a relay because the HID did not draw enough current so the car thought the bulb was out. I think you will be fine with the plug and play kits. My .02

I have ddm tuning lows AND fogs with no relays and it's fine. They aren't needed at all.

it is actually more safer just to use the relay harness, saves all the trouble of the hid kit not turning on often and bad grounding. i personally use a harness for my whole setup of hids, both fogs and lows and each one on its own fuse, so thats a total of 4 individual fuse harness im using. since im assuming u have an 08, why not just retrofit, i dont even use my fogs with my retrofit anymore.

If your not dead set on getting the DDM kit, look for Xenon Depot in the search box. There should be a thread already started that is titled this...The man's name is Steve.. A lot of people on this forum have the Xenon Depot kits on their 4runners.. I ordered a kit just last week.. Just another opinion on another set of HIDs.. Good luck
