HID Upgrade Nightmare

Been lurking here for a while and now looking for advice...
I upgraded to the Phillips HID kit through Xenon Depot and have had problems ever since. I've never been satisfied with the look. The hot spots are rogue, all over the place and the passenger side goes way off to the right. Annoying while driving. Days after the upgrade my driver's side lens filled with condensation. Thinking this was a fluke, I brought it to the dealer who swapped it out for a new one under warranty. Less than 24 hours later, after driving home with my lights on, its got water in it again. Any suggestions to remedy this situation without going back to standard halogen bulbs??

I've done a lot of business w/ [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] and although it has not always been smooth, they've always made it right. I would pull the bulb and dust cover ans use a hairdryer to remove the moisture.

My guess is that the acess hole in the dust cover is a little big. Try a little silcon between the wire gasket and dust cover. Whe you reintstall, make sure all 3 teethare properly seated before you turn the bulb clock wise.

Would you mind posting a picture of your HID bulbs please?

Your beam pattern definitely does not seem right, and typical for the 4runner projectors. Are you sure that you've got the rubber grommet properly seated on the HID bulb, and all 3 tabs are locked in?

your pattern doesn't look as clean as that of my DDMs, that might be a bulb quality issue.
As far as the condensation, how did you reseal the caps on the back of the lights after you cut the holes in them?

Thanks for the reply. I'll try and find an opportunity tomorrow to take it all apart and send that. Do you want the bulbs installed or out in the pic? All 3 tabs are locked in. I've reinstalled them a couple times since the original.

I think he means the i installation. Especially how the plug has been seated and the size of the grommet hole from both sides of the dust cover

Is it possible the bulbs are oriented wrong? I know hid bulbs have a bar on one side, perhaps that's the issue?

I took everything apart and put it back together. The first time the bulbs seemed a little loose and I realize the rubber grommet was kinda flipped back, so I fixed that and they are tight. The pattern still seems a little off though, but I can't really tell until it gets dark out again.
The first two pics are the driver's side, the second two are the passenger side before I took it all apart and reset it.

Thank you for taking the time to post up the picture.

You want to make sure that the red h11 grommet is seated all the way down so that it's flush to the black plastic base. In this picture, the grommet is NOT seated all the way down, as the bulbs ship with a white spacer to secure them during transit. If you take a look at your stock halogen bulb you will see what I mean.

I can't really make out how it's seated from your pic given that it's so small (I tried saving it and expanding it on my desktop, but the resolution is not great). You can also email me directly at [email protected] if it's easier for you.

I dunno I have had my kit in for over 2 years now and no issues at all. the guys [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] will for sure help you out if the issue is on their end.

They've been great. I've been emailing back and forth with them today as we diagnose the situation.

Are you handy with headlights? Why not attempt a retrofit? I'm doing one right now with IS350 projectors.

You ain't kidding. I finally got the pattern looking good, but the damn lens fills with so much water after turning the lights on. I'm leaning more towards buying new dust covers and throwing Silverstars back in there. Consider this an expensive lesson learned.
