HID Xenon kit question

8666-4runner

New member
I have a 06 4runner sport with projectors and I believe H11 bulbs..

I'm going to buy a HID kit and need advice (i've owned HID kits on my 2 previous cars)...

I know 4300 will give the most light but I do love the blue tint from a 6000 and up kit...

Please post any pics (beam pattern, light color shots, etc) so I can figure out which one i want...

Thanks,

some picture dont do the actual look of an HID Justice. I have 6000k and my is light blue when you first turn it on then after it warm up it get really white and bright! I love how it make anything white like road marker and sign look like its glowing at night.

I installed the 4300k last night and it has a slight blue tint, which I love, not as apparent as the 6000k but they're also bright as hell.

Another note, the new wiring harness from Xenondepot allows you to connect to both sides of the factory wiring harness so you don't have to tape up the passengers side any more. Threw me for a stump last night with no instructions from Xenondepot and step-by-step from a previous harness. Either way, worth every penny.

I went with a 6000k HID it has slight tint of blue but really lights the road up. Also added some 3000k HID fogs.

Sorry about that try this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&item=180107573263&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:11

If that don't work do a quick search on ebay for:

HID Xenon 03-06 4Runner 4 Runner Projector Headlight CH

They look nice to me....

If you do a search on keyword "projector" there is a thread about those.

I am assuming that the HID kit, the projector headlight and that led thing is one package deal?

Well the HID kit itself looks like any standard one but read the thread on the projector headlight

Thanks. I did a search for projector and found the post dealing with these ebay lights. Looks like Roccos_van didn't like them when he tried them.

I have a 2004 and it doesn't have the projector style light fixtures. Does this mean that I cannot use the Xenondepot set?

You can, the light just won't be focused like it is with projectors, you'll have a lot of glare and spread out light. But people still do it all the time.

Which kit

I am gonna buy a kit, but don't want to drop too much $ cuz my truck is leased after all..

Anyone know how good the mcculloch H11 6000k kit is in 2006-07 4runner projectors?

I was looking through ebay and I see a lot of lights listed as Xenon HID lights, but it's just a bulb:

Are these really Xenon? I thought you needed a ballast for Xenon? I'm thinking they are just halogen lights with some xenon gas in the bulb to so they can call it "Xenon gas charged".

what's the definition of HID? How high intensitity of a discharge to you need to be considered "HID"?

Anyone happen to know of these Ebay "HID" lights are any brighter than OEM?
