High Idle after pulling S/C

Today I pulled the S/C to do an oil change on it, and replace the fuel injector O-Rings.

Everything went great, started up good. But the idle would never drop back down...the idle fully warmed up was 1900. I could go to the throttle body and manually close the butterfly valve and knock the idle to normal. But whenever I reved the motor back up it would stay right at 1900 again.

Also when the motor is off the throttle body closes all the way as it should.

What could be the problem?

Mabey you could try cleaning the throttle body? Also could the throttle cable be hung up on something? Just some suggestions.

It's pretty clean, I had it off as well and gave it a blast of cleaner.

I had a high idle for a long time and I replaced everything associated with a high idle, TPS, ECT, IAC, all hoses, PCV. Still was idling high. It ended up being the nut that is on the front of the throttle body that operates the butterfly valve. It was stripped so bad it wouldn't tighten thus not letting the butterfly close all the way. I could manually close it by hand, but it wouldn't do it by itself. Something to look at....

Thanks friend, I will check it out. But it does close fine with the engine off, but when the motor is running the throttle is cracked open

Did you disconnect the battery while you were working? Maybe it just needs to relearn some settings. Drive it for a day or two and see if it calms down.

Battery was reset for 10 minutes. I noticed just now that the idle has come down to around 1300 now...

So maybe you are right give it a few days

Yea it seems like everything is all good, I was careful to get it all put back together right

I also agree with the ECU needing some time to reflash.

Could just be running rich to compensate for the S/C.
