High Idle in Park

Hey guys, Just got my engine replaced in my '97 with a 2002 3.4... mine was blown (don't ask) :P

When I first start it up it is fine but then after putting it into drive and driving it for a sec and putting it back in park it wants to idle up around 2000...

Any ideas?

Any ideas on this one? I've got the same situation, even though the mechanic replaced the whatchamacallit idle assembly do-hickey. They said it purred at ~600 like it used to, but when I drove it home, she raced to like 2000 or 2500 RPM when I put it in park.
1996 3.4L V6.

Test the voltage/resistance on the TPS. Or you could buy a cheapo Autozone one for like $14, swap it out and see if it does the trick.

Did they keep your 97 ECU and sensors? Just asking because the 97 is cable driven throttle whereas the 2002 is drive by wire (electronic throttle). May or may not be important.

Have you tried bumping the throttle when it gets stuck at 2000 RPM?

That's a very good point. They would have had to re-use your old throttle body and they should have re-used your old IAC and TPS.
