Yeah, 8007M has a V6 with 490K miles on it. Picture is post #382 in this thread.

Do you two 400k+ T4R's go off-road at all? Guessing much of those miles are highway. I'll be happy to get to 200k if I lightly wheel mine. But yeah, go for a new timing belt at least! =)

I think my engine and trans will outlast the frame of the 4r. what a weird thing! lol

Yup. 8007M's V6 4WD. He's at 490k+. We're all getting ready for a big 500k party for him!

I haven't got to 500k yet (448,383), but I should be there by next year.
03 SR5 V8, plugs, wires, belts All Original.

Wow. At 448k, that's pretty amazing. A little too risky for me, but it's a little security knowing that they can take it. I'm going to hit 100k soon, so that timing belt has been on my mind since I bought mine in March.

Are you the original owner? If you know the maintenance history, I'm sure I'm not the only member wondering what fluids and filters it's been getting. I want to know what to switch to...

I just hope all the hard city miles don't take its toll on my 4R... And I'm known to drive my 4runner hard stop sign to stop sign too...

I guess we'll see! Only at 57k now and hoping to have my baby another 7-8 years at least.

You're still a virgin. Just keep up the maintenance & you'll be great. Might go through brake pads quick tho.

LOL... I don't keep cars very long, but as I get older I'm beginning to accumulate more than one. So I may still have mine by then. Concerns about breaking down are minor. Won't stop me from wheeling & modding it. :roll:

Oh, I've got that covered already. At this point I have done a drain and refill on everything but the coolant. That will be done sometime this summer, probably after I finish with the rest of the maintenance on my VR. I've seen the recommendations, but was just wondering if he was putting anything specific in his that might have contributed to his successful mileage.

In a few weeks, I'll post a pic when my '03 finally hits 100k. I guess that belongs in the "low mileage" thread. :bravo:

I am not the original owner, got her used in 04 with 50k but we get a oil change every 5k which just happens to be once a month with Quaker State 5W30, nothing special.

I do have a question for everyone, I can have 5k on an oil change and I can check the oil on the dip stick and it is so clean that you can barely see it on the dip stick.
Is this something that is normal on a Toyota engine or is my motor something special?

Sold the 04 V6 with almost 12000miles on it. NEVER a problem. Just did normal and preventative maintenance that is it. In fact I just replaced the original battery before selling. I was not happy about giving up that great Panasonic!!
I was so confident in my truck and unfazed by mileage that I drove it all over Europe. It has seen more countries than some people I know
I sold the 04 and when the new person walked into my dealer the other day to make an appointment they literally told her she was super lucky since I took more than good care of my truck. And that is why she does not want to give it back

If I still had my V8 I would be very surprised if it didn't hit 500K with ease. This engine never strains in everyday driving. If you change the oil and filter regularly you will make it. Heck, we have a 2001 Lexus RX300 with close to 400K on it and it still purrs like a kitten. That engine is a pretty hard strainer as well.

My brother in law has a Tundra with 489K on his 4.7. I will try to get a snap shot of it.
