Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

Just picked up my 04 limited V6 this week with 181,100. The test drive started off as curiosity, wondering how a 'yota drove with that high of miles. I was so blown away by how 'new' the truck still felt...... I bought it. $8800
Tight as the day it rolled off the assembly line.

I totally agree with this. The 4R is much less "creaky" than most of the cars I've owned. With 137k miles, it even feels more solid than our 2011 Lexus RX350 with 20k! Congrats & show us some pics.

I just acquired a 03 V8 4Runner with 247,000km (154kmi) on it. When I was searching for one, I saw a 04 for sale with 400,000km (~ 250kmi) for sale.

Apparently, the original seller never changed the timing belt and water pump even though it was always serviced at a Toyota dealer. So I need to do that as well as servicing the rear brakes (hopefully I don't have to change them). The exhaust manifolds both leak. I am hoping I can just have them welded to save money on that too. There is another inexpensive repair for the front suspension too. Nevertheless, I got a very good deal on it. I am also going to buy some leather covers (probably Clazzio) for it.

When starting the truck, it takes the usual sound that means either the battery is weak or the starter need to be replaced. I'll have to look into that too.

Sorry, I only have the one pic so far. Other than a small tear in the side of the drivers seat (the usual area) and a couple blemishes in the inside passenger door panel, the truck is CLEEAAANNNN . I previously had a 2001 BMW 740iL, but with my passion for biking I needed an SUV. I'll include pics of why I bike here in Duluth and my old Bimmer.

Well, you see... this was after my first time off roading... in my 2wd.. So... I had accidentally hit the shifter from drive into neutral with my elbow, pulling on to the street from some random trail thing (May have been trespassing... :noidea... It got revved up, and then I had thrown it into drive, before letting it go down, And it jerked forward, tires squealing, a bit of smoke. Thought, very stupidly, "Hey that was cool! Let's do that again!" So I did, same thing happened, only that time, it was from a roll... Thought I should do it one last time, but from a stop... so, I stopped, and did it one last time.. Only this time, there was a large... "SNAP"... Thought "wtf?" Got out, looked fine... Continued driving, and really loud clunks kept happening, so I pulled over, and as the tow truck came to pull me up, he tried to drive it off the side of the road, and there was this horrible Grinding noise. I then noticed, it was at 90k miles, and I had not gotten my rear diff fluid flushed.. So 3 grand later, I have a newly rebuilt diff. (gotta love the overpricing!) Not that interesting of a story, but that was me, being an idiot, and breaking my car..

As of today, my 2003 Sport V8 4Runner just turned over 248,000 miles. To this day it has never leaked a drop of oil (or anything else).

I replace the timing belt when it's due, change the oil and put new rubber on it and that's about it. I can say it's the best vehicle I've ever owned.

My wife keeps asking me if I want to get a new one and I tell her no. I don't think it could live up to the one I have!

I was a dealer technician doing a 175k mile service on a 4th gen 4runner several years ago and I was expecting to get some decent work off of it. To my surprise with the exception of a little dirt, the underside of the engine was spotless. I have yet to see another vehicle with that type of mileage so clean with so little repair work done. That day I decided my next vehicle purchase would be a Toyota 4runner.

My 2003 Toyota 4runner Sport V8 is chuggin along at 105,000 mi.

2003 v6 limited 4x4 Bought mine little early last year- had 80k miles on it, currently 110k i was shopping in a mall with my wife and took my kids out since they were upset and drove them around and is saw this silver 4runner on an acura lot. I always liked the 4runner more so the 3rd gen design but i saw how clean it was and the older gentleman hanging around there.

I talked to him he said he traded in for a MDX for his wife 3 days ago and came by to check it out if its still here.( that dedication to a car which i am the same way) i bougth the car even before test driving it.

I still have the car i usually change cars really quick and stay towards lexus..

my other car is a LX570, but i drive 4runner more...

had toyota inspect it and they couldnt find anything wrong anywhere

i hooked it up decently changed the whole audio system nice nav, led tails, leds interior lights, HID fogs and headlights..new brakes rotors all around, CV axle, swy bushings, new spark plugs and daystar lift with Fj tires /black tints- keeping the OEM look inside(amps/speakers everything hidden)

High Mileage 4Runner?

My 2004 4Runner Limited has 202,000 kilometers on it! Drives very well and has caused me no problems...just regular maintenance, oil changes, etc. This could be one of the best vehicles I have ever owned.

Wow! These mileages really inspire me. I "only" have 95k miles on my '05 SE which I purchased brand spanking new back in January of 2005.

I remember back in the 80's when looking for my first car, my dad would warn me against buying anything with 100k+ on the clock. So what did I do? I bought a '75 Triumph Spitfire with 65k and it sat in the driveway, broken down weekly. But I digress. I'm loving my T4R and am very happy that I have at least another 100k of driving to look forward to!!!!
