I have an 2005 Limited with the v6 and we have 116k on it. I did the 2.5/1.5 and tires at 75k and I just had to do front wheel bearings. They were just starting to make some noise but I'm a little OCD with that stuff. I have also replaced the front calipers and done brakes front and rear. Other than normal fluid changes (Engine Oil, Axles, Transfer case,Brake fluid, and Power steering) its been a great car. I plan on having this for a long time to come so I try to keep it as nice as I can. I now have to get the timing belt done but that will be my spring project!

Does your 05 have a 1GR-FE motor? If so I've got good news. You will need a new spring project. It's a chain.

Yep miles with a V6. Nothing done to the tranny or engine. Wheel bearings on passenger side at about 220k then driver side at 245k. Gone through a couple cv axles. About to do my inner/outer tie rods. Runs and sounds great!

Can't beat the guy with more than half a mil miles on his '03 but I'll limp in with 190k on my '04. Lucky with it. The most we've done is tires, oil, and an alignment.

08 and very very very hard driving. It's a work truck which gets a full work out ever day

v6 no repair work what so ever to anything of course not caused by me which was only body damage

Just normal tires brakes a lot of ball joints again from the hard driving

You V6 has a timing chain. They usually don't need replacing until after 250k miles. And they'll start making noise to let you know.

Replacing a timing chain is LOT MORE COMPLICATED then a timing belt.

Have no idea. Not something I'm even remotely thinking about. My 4runner has over 250k miles...and there's no noise...so I'm pretty sure I'm good for years to come.

Timing chain parts are a lot more expensive. It usually comes as a kit.

Labor - This gets complicated. There's a lot more involved. And you'll need more parts (mainly gaskets for the timing chain cover and oil pan. Expect to pay at least 10 hours in labor. Maybe even as high as 20 hours. There's gaskets involved...plus you'll have to drop the oil pan...much more involved then a timing belt.

173110 on my 2006 SE... Virgin motor. Never been touched inside. Just regular maintenance. Shifts just as smooth as the day I bought it.

I just bought this 4runner & she reads 159K. I did not hesitate buying her due to the miles as I know Toyota quality is second to NONE! I traded in a 2006 Tacoma with 102K on it but this one feels like it's just as young when I hit the gas, can't beat the quality that's for sure!
