Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

While 213,000 miles is a lot, it runs like a dream, no squeaks, grinds, or rattles. Seems to feel best at 82 mph while tacking about 2200 rpm. I bought it new and have to admit it's been nice not having a car payment for the past 4 years! I definitely have new car fever, but I just don't like the Gen 5's, too big, no V8, and only the limited has the AWD, so I'll keep on keepin on!

What did he do to his car besides the normal maintenance?

Would be really interesting to know (also from the other high mileage T4R owners) what needs special attention.

V8. He has the same tech he see's for all the maintenance's. The stereo just went out and he had a new aftermarket one installed from BestBuy and was bragging on how cool it was on what it did.

Wow that is awesome!!! He averages 55k miles a year. If you get a chance ask your buddy what all is original, just main stuff like diffs, transfer case, trans, engine.

Its nice to know our trucks have the potential to last this long.. I do find it funny, that most owners. Roughly 95% (guessing) will not keep it for more than 300k miles yet alone 200k.

I planned to keep my 3d gen when I got it at 204k.. I only got it up to 222k in 1.5years.

I got this truck at 143. it now has 148. My goal is to keep it for a long time.. However from past history; im not too sure.

Newer is better and I wish I have a 2009 v8.. not sure why..lol

My acura tl I got has almost 100k. I bought it at 30k. My wife drives it now.. That for sure I will keep for a Long time.. Since I got it almost new.

Seems like I keep the vehicles longer if financed. ha.

I sure hope I will keep the 4runner forever.. It more valuable to me since they dont make any more v8's. only issue with it is the plastic fenders and bumper are fading..

Yeah, I am definitely planning on keeping my v8 T4R for a long time. Then again, that's what I said about the 1st through 4th gens ive had in the past, and yes, The last 3rd gen I had, I sold post 300k miles and it still ran like a champ!!!

The 4runner has always been one of the best looking SUVs imo and when I was in the market for a good used SUV, took my time studying my best options and at the end of the day it came to be the 4runner, it became my favorite SUV. Definitely one of my best investments while on a budget. I've been visiting this site for months now and it makes me feel great knowing these things are so reliable even after 500,000 miles ..bought a 2003 V8 2wd with 138,000 miles for $9000 and I hope to keep it for as long as I can I'm in love with it.

Bought a week ago.....looks extremely clean...almost like new. Runs great. Offroads great. Working out some electrical bugs though....possibly needing a brake booster, and seriously dreading how much that'll cost.

I'll Let You Know ...

I just bought my '07 with 143K on it. Nothing but highway miles and I don't think the back seat was even sat on it was that clean! Hope to have this around until I'm not around anymore. The only problem it had were a couple of EVAP engine codes that were popping. Pretty sure I solved that with a $22 gas cap from the dealer though. It runs like a dream!
