Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

Sounds like you've never owned a domestic vehicle... :eyebrows: :becky:

Had a few Jeeps with the straight 6 back in the day. Few thing's like cracked radiator but that was around the 150k mark. Great other than that. Would I buy a new one. .. hell no. My dad has a 01 Tahoe, abused the heck out of that thing. Now we call it the trash truck. Whoever in the family wants to use it for whatever just does. 190k and never even had the alt changed. Literally spark plugs and fluids is it. I used to ne a subaru mechanic. They has there flaws too, headgaskets, but at lest it was 1 or 2 things, not 6.I love my 4runenr, just not quite as reliable as I had wanted is all. I would expect to replace these things around 150-200k, not by 90k

I hear ya! I did my radiator at 90k as well. Have a water pump in my near future but that's it so far

Reading about people with 250-300 and only basic maintenance makes me think mine was made at 4:59 on a Friday. Never towed, never off roaded, always serviced on time. 93k on the odo and have replaced

-radio ( not because I wanted to, the JBL failed)

-amplifier (same as above about 6 months later)

-water pump (failed at 83k)

-both front wheel bearings

-1 front brake caliper

-Transfer case actuator

-Just ordered a new radiator, mine cracked yesterday

Sounds like standard maintenance for possibly a 12 year old vehicle.

Its what I was thinking.. Miles is one thing.. But if you got it used. None of these thing maybe maintained. Its why maintenance states miles/year which ever comes first.

My parents have 3 4runners. Their '86 has ~340k, dad's 98 has ~210k and my mom's '02 has ~170k. All three still running strong(the '86 is more of their "bad weather beater" since it has dents and scratches). My '04 has ~104k. Nearly 800k between all 4 and I'm sure that's a relatively low number considering!

2004 Sport

04 Sport 197,000 miles , have had to replace water pump, radiator, transmission fluid lines, 02 sensors, left and right side catalytic converter with manifold, exhaust system rusted out and Alternator, both axels, plus of course sets of tires, brakes etc..

Just passed 360k! Should hit 400k this year for sure.

I bought a 2004 v6 limited from my son 4 months ago who had since 2008 80k miles. I don't think he did anything but oil changes and tires after going through all the records that he threw in the glove box. I've changed an O2 sensor and a front brake job for frozen calipers. Left front wheel bearing soon. Getting her ready to run the beaches of NC.
178000 and I'll keep it till the salt turns it to rust.

05 sport - got 163k .. Going strong, well except for the ol manifold.. And just had all the brakes done.

2006 V8 limited 4wd. 202,467 miles. Timing belt replaced by previous owner at 186,000 miles. About to replace front suspension, ball joints, and cv axle.

Hit 200k a few weeks ago. 2004 V6 Limited 4x4. Bought it nearly 2 years ago and have only put 16k miles on it. I commute on a motorcycle when I can. I haven't had to replace anything major yet...Hoping to go over it in depth this summer. At this rate I'm hoping it will last me another 10 years at least. Happy to see so many high mileage 4runners.
