Highest Mileage on a third generation

Based on these numbers, should I be concerned about high mileage 4Runners when buying? I was hoping to find one with less than 150k, but it sounds like there isn't a problem with 4Runners pushing 200k.

121k on mine. Just got it last week, going in for the timing belt and new plugs this week. Need to consult the regular maintenance schedule ASAP before it goes in.

Plan to maintain it per spec every step of the way... hope to get 300k which will take me a looooong time since 4 months of the year I ride my F800GS instead of drive. :roadkill:

The 03 has right at 140k on it now, and my "new" 98 has 164k on it.

Hoping they last me forever... :fro:

Wait for it...

Is that photoshopped? Holy cow batman that is insane. I was going to say 324k on my 96 4 runner but damn you have got to be 1 of the highest mileage 3rd gen on the site. Original trans, motor, etc?

285k on my '00 Sport. 3rd owner. Far more worried about the tranny than the engine at this point, always heard the 5VZ was tough and was pleased to see how well things are holding up. Barely any scoring on my lifters, not a fleck of carbon on my valves. Even the vacuum lines are still in good shape.
Tranny is doing fine so far, no slip at all and I drive with ECT often (if that matters), but I know it's seen little maintenance in it's lifetime. Really should do a flush and screen replacement soon.
Rear diff was rebuilt during the last ownership, thankfully, along with basic upkeep like timing belt/water pump, radiator, etc.

Totally rad! There's been a few million mile Tacos, I see few reasons why we can't make it too :thumb3:
What kind of upkeep has it seen? Any breakdowns?

LOL!
Not photoshopped at all!! All original. The PO took good care of it. I was SOOO impressed. Few quirks here and there but it was a family vehicle for years and the kid just got tired of it. MAN! A Limited (my fav) that was not wrecked nor engine blown and THEN sounded like a Singer sewing machine -- no brainer...
I plan to put 200k more miles on her. I DO! I got rid of my 2000 Limited almost 10 yrs ago with 224k miles on it (DUMB DUMB). Never make a mistake like that again! Toyota to me has to be the best engineered vehicles in the world.

As far as I know from the PO, it was well maintained by the family and family certified mechanic. Boy oh boy. The price was right and so was the sound on the motor. I was thinking of taking her to the stealership to see their faces when they look at the ODO LOL!! The only issue right now is the CAT is clogged up and there is no HP. The PO welded the CAT and the bolts to the exhaust. Im having a hell of a time getting them off. Other than that, Im excited!

Toyota

Drop Toyota a shout out on the gram and I bet you they will send you some stuff. I know a snowboarding friend had 700k on his 08 Tundra and he posted on their instagram and they sent him some cool stuff and had dealership give him a serious inside price on several Toyota vehicles.

458something on my 96 I got from IAA, with a 5speed.

Bad HF, but will still crank and drive just fine.

Can’t wait to swap the transmission into my 99 Limited; and rebuild the 3.4 from the 96. [emoji16]

2001

My wife and I have 231K miles on our 2001 Limited 4X4. We are the original owners of this T4R and had a TRD supercharger installed when we bought it new. Of course, gas was around $1 a gallon back then.
