highest mileage on a v8

hi im lookin at switching from a 3rd gen to a 4th gen with a v8 wondering what longevity is on the V8s i have no worries that im near the end of my 3.4 at 200k but both he V8s im lookin at one is 207k the other is 260k both would be about an even trade

Good thread to look through if you’re curious where others are at with their mileage!
If the rig has been taken care of and maintenance has been regular, you shouldn’t have any problem getting another 100k+ out of it. Toyota is known for their longevity.

Check the frame for rust. Also ask when the timing belt was last replaced.

Mines at 280k with no issues besides just regular maintenance
 
I saw one with 325K miles on the original engine and trans when I was shopping around for mine. That was a couple years ago.
 
The 4gen 4runner is still a bit young to be seeing really crazy mileage but some of the 100 series Land Cruisers with the 2UZ are in the 400k-500k mile range. You are approaching overhaul territory after ~300k miles. Some engines last longer, some don't. It's unlikely the engine will let you down as long as it has been maintained (and you continue that maintenance).
