Our 2005 Highlander heater control was acting screwy, sometimes working, then the heat quit, all cold air. This is the model with the three big rotating dials on dash. The hot/cold adjustment in the middle...
Dealer wanted $900+ to replace entire control unit behind dash above radio. Brought car home instead and googled and the following thread came right up. Dozens and dozens of exact same probs were fixed with a simple re-solder of three broken wires. The ribbon cable severs when the locking nut under the dial came loose, and allowed movement of the adjustment. I fixed mine for $000 dollars in barely one hour!!! :banana::banana::banana:
