Wander on the highway is most often caused by poor tire alignment, specifically the tow in setting. Tires should tow in slightly. Yours may have a tow out.
It can also be caused by road conditions such as crown in the road or uneven surface, such as tar strips.

Mine wonders bad on the highway too. Alignment is fine on mine just had it done before a decent road trip I went on. Must just be a 4runner thing.

I just had 30-40mph sustained winds through west TX to Albuquerque and got 11.7 mpg. That was truly not fun.
Wander is not a 4Runner thing; mine does not wander (2018 SR5 Premium). Alignment shops don't always get it right.

These things do get blown around in the wind though. Much moreso than smaller or more "streamlined" cars.
Yeah, winds are not fun. Yesterday we had 30-45 mph winds with gusts to 80. I drove down I25 with a heavy cross-wind and it was a bit rough.
But this isn't as bad as cross-winds on a tall motorcycle with panniers and a top case. Ended up in another lane once, it was that bad.

My 2020 SR5P, which is stock, doesn't have this issue.
I noticed this on my stock 2017 pro with medium+ cross wind. I just figured it was because of the pro's soft suspension and my under inflated tires.
For me, it is hard to stay in my lane at highway speed and when it does happen, I just figure I'm getting pulled over today for DUI.

Exactly what I was going to comment. Sure, tire pressure and toe can affect this, but the big reason is the caster. Stock numbers will leave you wandering. Make sure you have a good shop, and tell them to increase the caster.

Realize basically driving a box right ? I get moved around in big wind but not like you're describing , not where I'm jumping lanes or anything !:noidea:

I suppose I should have been more clear. When its windy its sometimes a pain it doesn't necessarily wonder on its own. It was aligned at Toyota its not an alignment issue.

Usual buffeting when running Interstate 80 across northern Nevada, usually windy, especially in spring or with incoming storm fronts. Head on, quartering or broadside winds as the highway makes its way north and northeast between Reno and Winnemucca (165 miles).
No issues, other than the usual wind trying to blow away a box. Depending on velocity, little or no directional correction. Big rigs add some lateral wiggle when you get into their wake before passing them, but no directional change.

Not 'Runner related, but, my Honda 500 Interceptor was a death wish in cross winds. LOL!

You're speaking Chinese to me. But I am intrigued.
If I just tell the cats at Firestone to "get my caster up to 3.5-5.0" they will abide and know what I'm saying? If they counter with any sort of question I will just blankly stare at them and nod.
