So yesterday T4R was hijacked for at least 4 hrs.

The site was redirected to some anti-banking youtube video.

I am not a web engineer (I do data storage) but I assume in order to do this the attckers obtain full admin or ROOT access.

I dont expect T4R admins to go into the details, especially since hackers shouldn't have anyones credit card info as this is only a car forum.

But they might very likely have 3 things about every user:
1) login name
2) password
3) pri email


It would be smart to change your password T4R now but especially change it anywhere else you re-used the same password.

If you have the same T4R password as your banking, FB, gmail ect then go change it now!

It is smart to assume they downloaded the SQL database and will decrypt it later or upload it somewhere else for decryption at a later time. All of that is assuming that the site was well protected at all (encrypted database w/ used names salted & hashed).

I work in data centers all over SoCal. You would be surprised how many customers simply never change the root password from its factory (public) setting.

It's not surprising, if they can mimic a verfi web page of your bank, cover there tracks, and funnel your money from you without it looking like it, I would think hacking this site would be a cake walk.
