Hill Assist Function(malfunction)?

I recently purchased and 2006 4Runner Limited and have noticed something weird when stopped on a steep hill. When trying to start up again it makes a weird noise and the power delays for a second and then the traction control sensor beeps and then the car lurches foward. I took it to the dealer and they said this is supposed to happen. Has anyone else noticed this? Not really sure that I like it.

Do a search and you'll see that this is normal.

Sorry new to the Forum could you elaborate more? Do a search? How do I do that? Dont know the Jargon yet.
