What kind or model number is the Hilux Surf sidemarker lights. I'm not sure if they have there own sidemarker lights or if they use any toyota marker lights. I'm looking to paint my 3rd gen runner but would need to drill the marker light holes first, and install some sidemarker lights. Any suggestions.

Im thinking about the Putco Universal Amber or HELLA.

Most just use clear side lights from a MKIV VW Jetta, truthfully i think they (any side marker) look like crap on a 4Runner, but to each his own.

I actually thing they're a great idea and confused why the DOT doesn't mandate them on vehicles in America. Some dumb drivers who for some reason like to hang around your doors in multi lane roads on the go don't realize you want to make a lane change and are to far up to see your tail lights so that marker is great!

Toyotas with these factory markers actually blink when the turn signal is activated.

I agree.

Adding the side marker lights really would be a good thing to add to improve safety while driving on multi-lane highways. As for looks alone, I think that they wouldn't look too bad on a 4Runner.

yeah start with that then we will start adopting other crappy European safety standards, like automatic leveling lights with wipers and the myriad of other things that make it almost impossible to keep an older car on the road and still pass the mot tests. trust my i've lived and driven over there for more than a few years and trying to get anything done sucks compared to here.
that said, they do look kinda cool.

I'm looking to replace all of the front/ rear bulbs on my 99 4Runner and I know there are headlamps and two other bulbs in the front and not sure what's in the back (turn signal bulb etc.) and I'm trying to find them all online.

Can anyone tell me how many and what bulbs are in the front and rear light assemblies?

Front:
Headlights (2xH4), parking lights (2), signal lights (2), and fog lamps (2xH3)

Rear:
High-mount brake light (1), brake lights (2x2filament), signal lights (2), back-up lights (2)
