HIR for High Beams - Nice!

Had a chance to install some HIR bulbs for my high beams after clearing the driveway of snow, and I gotta say - nice!

I have Hella's, HID's and the High beams have needed a little "oomph", after upgrading the stock high beams, the difference is a bit noticeable, though not as much as stock-to-HID.

Ultimately, they're a fine modification to replace the stock high beams for $25/bulb.

Did some quick measurements to try and quantify the increase in light...

HID Low Beams: 8,400 LUX @ 4'
HID Low + Stock High Beams: 21,600 LUX @ 4'
HID Low + HIR High Beams: 27,000 LUX @ 4'
Hella 500 w/ 100W bulb: 22,700 LUX @ 3'

To measure, I basically stuck my multimeter on the wall (to maintain a constant distance, hence the change in distance between the Hella's and the headlights) in the middle of the brightest blob of light. Because there's some bleed from the low beams, I need to measure/include the value.

Don't rely 100% on the values above as measuring light is tricky: area covered, distance, etc. all affect the resulting values. A Hella maintained a 6" diameter circle of light whereas the HID low beams spread the light out in a horizontal bar several feet. The multimeter can only measure a 1" diameter portion of light, with the angle impacting measurements also.
