These are developed by GE and are in John Deere stuff where high intensity light is needed. I read over at Yotatech that someone has these in there truck and was wondering where you would get these. Anybody know anything about these?

Unlike traditional quartz halogen globes, Halogen Infra Red (HIR) lighting technology works by reflecting infra red energy back on to the globe's filament to superheat it. The result is a whiter, brighter light that's almost double the output of a standard 65 watt globe. What's more, the low wattage of the IPF-HIR's allows for greater globe life and durability.

There's a bunch of stuff on google. Search for "hir lights".

I'll do the search but does anyone know how they compare to silverstars in price, longevity and brightness?
