hitch and body help

What do you guys usually do for the 2 inch gap between the body and the hitch after a 2 inch body lift? Being able to see the spare looks a bit odd...

In the same boat but planning a 1" bl

I'm planning to do a 1" lift and am worried about how it will look. You have a 2" bl so its even more noticeable. Have you got any pics of it?

I want to leave the hitch where it is because I do tow with it and it's at the perfect height.

Take the spare out, and remove your hitch. Get a custom rear bumper with hitch integrated to the bumper. Or just live with it.

I knew that the 2" gap would drive me crazy so I had a local off road shop cut the hitch and re-weld it to fit flush after the 2" body lift. I ran it like this for 3 or 4 years, towed boats and trailers just fine and looked pretty good. I think I paid around $125 for them to do it, worth the money if you don't want to invest $800 or more in a new rear bumper (which I ended up doing). Here are some old pics of mine: TJM-15 and Custom Hitch Pics - YotaTech Forums. I've still got the hitch and I'd love to sell it, but shipping it to CA probably wouldn't be worth your time - let me know if you're interested though.

A bit easier solution... I picked this up for 40 bucks. I just had to tack weld it in. Its a mirror finish behind the black powder coated metal.

Not sure if it would fit with your bumper but I cut and flipped my receiver upside down. Can't say if will work with your bumper since I removed my bumper beforehand. However, it looks like that may work.

Here's a link to get an idea of what I mean and whether it looks like it will work for you. It brought the receiver up to between the frame rails.

id do this, and if there isnt enough room, then notch out the bottom of the bumper to make room for the 2" receiver...

Just took another pic for the hell of it today so you can see if it looks like it'll work for you.
