Hitch mounted bike rack question...

Wah

So I got my Yak rack the other day. I noticed that the rack moves a lot in the hitch (side-to-side). It doesn't seem to be a problem, but I was just wondering if this happens to other people... Does it?

My Yak has a threaded hitch pin that cinches the rack in the receiver. I think mine is the Roc4. Look inside the rack pin hole and see if it looks like there is a nut welded inside the tube. If so, you just need the threaded pin.....if not...either don't worry about it or a single layer of duct tape and a good push when you load it:D

My Yak doesn't do that either. It has a threaded bolt that keeps it in place. I've got the KingPin 4.

Maybe yours is missing that part??

You need to tighten that bolt all the way down. It is difficult in the 4Runner because the 2 triangular reinforcing plates make it a really tight fit- if you have a big socket wrench that will fit, that makes life easy.

If you have play in the hitch, it isn't good.

Yakima's quicklever is great but it doesn't fit in the hitch:mad:
