Hitch Mounted Tire Carrier vs. Custom

Has anyone out there looked into a hitch mounted tire carrier vs. a custom fab job?

ARB makes a nice bumper for the Land Cruiser but nothing for the 4Runner.

There is a member of this forum who made a killer tire carrier himself. Love to get a set of drawings for that.

The hitch below cost $690 bucks.
