I can't remember which dealer it was that I've seen something like this before on their cars. They had this stuff instead of that Saran wrap on hoods and bumpers that most car makers use. The stuff I've seen looks like a clear gummy stuff, almost like dried spit/mucus. It's a little tacky, but peels easily off the paint. I think it was at an Acura dealer.

This stuff would make cleaning the truck a whole lot easier and eliminate the dirt from scratching the finish during washing.
