Holiday Bummer: euthanized an old friend

I know a lot of ya'll are dog folks, but saying good bye is hard for us Cat People too.

12 1/2 years old, wife had him since 1 week old, prior to her being a wife or a mother. And we had to do it the day after our daughter's 2nd birthday so there isn't much pleasant about that. Other than we stopped his struggle.

Rest easy old friend. Bub 4/13/06-12/20/18. Your shenanigans will be missed.

Thanks. Junky part about being a pet owner is you almost always outlive them. If I can recommend it and you can afford it, have a euthanasia vet come to the house and do it when it's time. Couldn't have been a more comfortable way to send him off into the sunset.

Bummer. It's never fun. In October, I had to put down my pup of 14 years. It's even harder when the kids are old enough to understand and been there with them for many years.

I know he will be missed.

Sorry for your loss. This is one of the certainties of life, right? I had a put down my Norwegian forest cat last August. Kidney disease is common with his breed, and it got progressively worse in his last five years. Had him for 11 of the 16 wonderful years of his talkative life. The house is much quieter now.

Sorry for you and your family's loss, been there a few times with the pups, have two now both 9, always know that he is on the other side of the rainbow bridge with all the other loved and missed pets

Losing a pet is always hard, having to put them down makes it worse. They say time heals all wounds but thinking of the dog we put down over 2 years ago still makes me sad. Godspeed to our furry friends.
