Tisoy281 dang. getting me all teary eyed at work. sorry to hear :sobbing:
I want to be there of course for my dog in the end, but I also don't know if I can make the decision. when the time is right, part of me hopes he goes to sleep peacefully. I make sure I have a good goodbye every night and anytime I leave the house. a big hug and a treat.
I have adjusted our routine again and the last few nights have been pretty good. he is sleeping through the night and in the morning, no more waking me up at the crack of dawn. I used to take him out at 9pm for last call. now I wait until closer to 10pm. this seems gives him some extra time to process dinner then do his business again. a quick run around and he seems ready for bed. I guess he needs to go 3 times now and not just 2 like before. Ill keep up this schedule now since it seems to make him more comfortable.
Sounds sort of similar to my dog situation. He recently got into a mode where he was up at 5-6am needing to go outside. Adjusted his nightly schedule a bit by feeding him a bit earlier (which in turn makes him drink water earlier) and taking him out for last call later (11pm as opposed to 9ish). He now is back to sleeping in.
