Hollister SVRA

I'm heading from LA to San Francisco next week, and thought about stopping at Hollister state vehicle recreation area on the way up. Does anyone have any experience there? I'm still stock and unsure if I'm ok to go there for an hour without another vehicle. Any help us appreciated!
