home made body lift

so im going to make my own 1 inch body lift out of Polyethylene rod. i have a little rubbing when i go wheelin so i figure an inch or so would be good to get rid of it. i found it for 6 bucks a foot. i orderd that and im gonna go buy the harware for it. my question is do i need grade 8 bolts? i was told i didnt but i didnt want to risk it by going cheap with the bolts. any imput???

You really don't need G8, but it wouldn't hurt.
I use G8 in mine but I beat the heck out of my truck.

your stock ones should be long enought for that little of lift i belive

When I bodylifted my trucks, I used grade 8 I think (10.9 is the same as grade 8?) US standards confuse me abit.
However, on my first I did not use 10.9 and when I rolled it they bent, but did not split, so I guess that's strong enough.
The original ones are fairly long enough for 1".

You really don't want to save few bucks on bolts like these, because if you roll it or something serious happens you don't want the body to get lose.

Few years ago here in Iceland a Nissan Patrol rolled and the body mounts teared off and IIRC all of the passengers died. The bolts probably held but, well, you don't want the body to come off...
That was because of rust but if the bolts would tear apart you'd get similar effect.
