Homelink buttons 1 and 2 dont function in my 2013 TE

So I bought this truck and thankfully #3 works and is programmed to my garage. Buttons 1 and 2 however are nonfunctional. They dont light up the homelink light. Anyone have this problem? Can I fix this myself at home? How involved is it?

Would love some input from the hive mind of experts! Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in this conversation as well. I was able to program my big garage door to location 1 but was unable to program my single car garage door to either of the other two locations. First world problems.

Stealership tells me 1400 for the part if I want to replace all the buttons.

By this I mean you don't have much time between pushing the homelink button in the truck and the button on the opener. I thought you would have maybe 10 seconds when it's more like 5. I guess they figure you're going to use 2 people. Perhaps this differs between openers and the cause of your issue.

I doubt its this since he says that 1 and 2 don't even light the light. Sounds like the momentary switches are bad. Maybe got wet or something inside, which is odd due to location, unless sunroof left open in rain or something. But shouldn't be due to normal wear and tear. If you really need multiple buttons I would probably solder a new one on or find one at a junkyard.

So my problem is I have a TE that has the crawl control knobs and what not. Anyone with knowhow know if the module for the homepink can be removed? Or the buttons?

I understand the frustration, but that sounds like more of an unnecessary headache than anything. Unless of course you have two doors or whatever.

The bigger issue for me is, if for some reason my garage resets I wont be able to reset the programming because button 1 doesn’t work right? Thats my main worry.

I don't think so? You should be able to just reprogram the one you've just used.

I accidentally dicked up my garage opener last weekend. I had to reconnect each remote, and the keypad. For the Runner, I just pressed the Smart Pair button or whatever on the machine, and then hit #1 a few times till the machine light flashed.

I'd believe I could have done that on any of the three switches.
