Hood difficult to lift, bracket seems to bend

My '99 has a hood that is difficult to lift to propping height. The interior release works great, as does the grille-release. But when it comes time to lift the darn thing, it acts like it's 300 pounds!

Also, when I close it, the driver side hood bracket (by the windshield) seems to force the hood up about 1/2". The truck has not been in an accident (as far as I know, and carfax knows)...so what can I do to fix this? I can take a photo in a few days, if that would help.

Yeah, take a pic , I'm betting one of the hinge brackets is bent and or seizing up. In the mean time try spraying some wd40 onto the hinge, that may loosen it up a little.
