Hood Insulation 93 Runner

Hey Guys, got a quote from the dealer to replace my torn up insulation uder the hood, $350. I'm definitely not doing that, but the insulation I have is hanging down in the throttle linkage and everything...has anyone ripped theirs out on a 2nd gen with a 3.0L? any effects on the hood paint? Is there aftermarket stuff I can buy and cut to the same shape?

Yo, I had the same problem with my old 1994 Toyota Pick-up. After many mud rides and washes, it just fell off one day. After three years without it and many hot days in the north Louisiana woods, I saw no paint damage. I did keep a good coat of Eagle One wax on it though, but I am not sure if that has any effect because it was on top of the paint. My truck was dark Toyota green by the way.
