Hood Protector Install

I ordered a hood protector for my new-to-me 2008 Sport Edition, and after my experience with the one on my 2003 Sport Edition (the dealership in central MA that I paid an extra $20 to install it during a routine oil change didnt put the silicone pads one, so the brackets ate into the hood!) I took steps to protect the edge of the hood from the new brackets.

I bought those vinyl pads that people commonly put on things like chair's feet so they dont ruin/scratch the floor, or some people out them on the inside of cabinet doors/drawers so they dont "slap" when they close.

I applied the silicone pads where the directions read that they should go, but when i was screwing-in the brackets to their rubber-threaded-grommet-things that go inside the hood itself, I attached a vinyl pad where the bracket MIGHT rub over time.

Im sure people out there probably have their own ingenious way of taking care of this problem, but i thought id share my remedy as well.

Came out ok, i think!
