Hood Strut

Anyone had problem with their 4runner hood strut. I guess the strut is too weak so the hood kept dropping down when I am working under the hood. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement for the hood strut. How much is for the replacement?

I had problems with the hood struts on my Grand Cherokee. The problem is that they start to loose the gas charge in them, making them unable to keep your hood upright (especailly in cold weather).

I don't know what the replacement cost would be for them on a 4runner, but they were around $80 or $100 a piece on my Jeep. Not cheap. You might be able to find one in good shape at a salvage yard.
