Hoodmounted Bug Deflectors?

Yes they help a little! I live in central florida and during love bug season they can get pretty thick, you have to wash them off daily or they will damage the paint. It is far from a 100% cure but it does slow them down on hitting the windshield and the ones that get by seem to hit higher like half way up, it definitely keep the bugs off of your wipers. I got mine from Toyota but I think avs is about half the cost and is a good product.

I have the the OEM one which I picked up from my dealer for $100 (Retail is $130 I believe). Install was easy and took about 10 minutes. It actually did help reduce bug splatter on the hood a little but even more I actually like the aesthetic look it adds to the front end.

I have the AVS brand on mine and had oem on wifes before taking it off. didnt blend in well on pear white imo. oem 4sale, pm me if int. really like my avs. in my gallery you can see the fit. fairly effective in az.

Yeah, I've got AVS hood and window deflectors on the 5th Gen. They are a little thinner (material) than the factory ones, but stands to reason as they're half the price. My 3rd Gen has the factory hood and window ones which have held up great. The window ones keep the inside of the door from getting soaked if you go through a drive-thru when its raining :thumb3:

My 4th gen had a bug deflector and it was great. I'm thinking of getting one for my 5th gen but was wondering if it would be overkill to add a bug deflector if I already have a clear bra/invishield on the front of my car?

Go for it, there's mine below: :thumb3:

"Door Vent Visors, Hood BugflectorII, Sunroof Visor. 3M Paint Protection Film, full front, side mirrors, A-Pillars, door handles."

what about washing the truck, and rain and such. Does it leaves dirt and marks under the deflector? What if I take it off later, will the pain look different where it was?
