Unfortunately the way this thing is transmitted, it’s nearly impossible not to get it if you’re around someone that’s infected.
I haven’t been to work in just over a week (previously requested) and was supposed to return tomorrow.
Just this past Tuesday everyone in our department was notified we are off for 2 weeks due to a coworker having covid19. This morning , we were notified that he passed away due to this. He was in his 50s a bit overweight but healthy.

Which is why it was nice of the "experts" and propaganda specialists to induce panic buying. Announced mass " home arrests " in x days. Masses flood food stores, where their chances of coming in contact with the Chinese virus was greater. Shocked when cases rise. :noidea:

This thread (especially the first 15-16 pages) was painful to read through. You can see some commenters eventually come to their senses over time. It played out almost exactly like it did where I work. I live in Kirkland, WA where this all started and I was getting made fun of in early March for using hand sanitizer at my desk. Now we're all out of work.

This is real. It will affect you regardless of who you voted for.

I saw something about a place in Texas fining people for not covering their faces out in public. Hopefully this turns into a trend in the USA and around the world. It's been said this is how Singapore has kept their infections amazingly low when comparing with other countries with the metric of infections per million.

Fines, maybe. I've heard of a few other places that were doing the same. Another site said places in CO were fining people for being out.

The most bonkers and worrisome thing about all this right now is the seemingly nonexistent plan to provide equipment to places that need it most. There doesn't seem to be any real effort to produce a grand plan against this, and no, Jared Kushner is not an expert on anything.

This is going to be a long, crazy summer.

Fantastic idea as I was about to lay 3 or 4 of them off. Supposed to open today for enrollment ...however there are more questions than answers so it's being delayed now

NYC has a lot of homeless people (and or drug abusers) many streets smell like piss and you have to be careful no to step in these peoples shit too. Same for LA according to a good friends SO who wont work in downtown LA because of the lice problems and garbage piles (called "personal property" by the homeless proponents) from them.

My guess is that these are going to be easy targets for the virus and the first to pass from it.

NYC doesn't have any public bathrooms. Paris has them Lisbon has them the most of the rest of Europe has them .... wth?

I talked to my bank first thing this morning about the SBA loans and they are not even ready to deal with this or accept applications... this is going to be a mess. Banks pushed back at the rate too for an increase because of their internal costs to process... like this was supposed to be convenient for them.

We are a small shop, and I am still paying my people so I can retain my entire team, but the cash-burn for is only going to last so long.

From what I read, I can apply for 2.5x my payroll and operating costs, and if I don't lay anyone off and hit all the other targets the loan can forgiven, but we'll see about that.

We generally operate on NET 30 terms and customer are already slowing down payments. I still got vendors to pay... and everyone is trying to protect their own cash flow.

Anyone who needs this money sooner than later is going to be in for a world of hurt.

People wearing gloves out & about are idiots for the most part. They touch EVERYTHING with gloves on including phones, THEN they discard the gloves & touch it along W/items THEY handled W/Gloves!! Just use common sense. Wash your hand or you hand sanitizer AFTER touching things & before touching things you WILL use i.e. the STEERING Wheel, Shift Knob KEY FOB!!! It depends on the person. Wearing gloves actively prevents me from touching my face. There are ways to take off gloves and masks to prevent contamination. I will agree that one needs to maintain 100% focus on not letting the old habits take over such as the handling of other objects while wearing protective gear.

What's more idiotic was people believing and parroting the "masks didn't help reduce risk" crap. I understand what was being accomplished by the guidances earlier on, but are people that dense to think masks will only help reduce risk based on your profession?

All kidding aside and with the utmost seriousness has anyone heard of Marshal law happening on the east coast soon? I unfortunately overheard a loud cell phone conversation at a store, that has a lot of cameras, by someone who said he was a Corporal. I spoke (confronted) with him. Didn't sound good. Others who are in "the know" said he was a asshat and no one in any authority would behave like he did. Keep New Jersey weird. Not feeling really great tonight. Any thoughts or insights?

Haven't heard of impending actions related to martial law but wouldn't be surprised of that occurring if the population continues to believe the rules don't apply to them. Sheriff Gore in San Diego has begun to enforce the start at home order as mandatory (as it should be) with fines and possible jail time. No more free passes or leniency. I wish they would just toss them in jail because monetary fines are not immediately impactful. It's not like folks in CA take misdemeanor violations seriously anyway.

BofA has their application system up and is online only. The caveat is that they are only accepting applicants who they have existing relationships with at the moment. When they fund might be another story though.

There’s lots of blame to go around. No use complaining about it. Bad decisions have been made. Lessons should be humbly learned and adjustments made to improve for the future. There should be a unified response order from the president to get the whole country on the same track. Enough of these weak state-by-state orders by wimpy governors, it will just increase the deaths and prolong the recovery. Stay home, stay isolated, wash your hands, etc. Soon there will be additional guidance to wear masks in public to act as spit shields.

The economy is already F’d. Time to shut it down, obey the health guidelines, defeat the viral spread, then work on getting the economy restarted. This is not just affecting the USA, it’s the whole world.

And by the way, farmers in states like Georgia desperately need workers to pick crops that are ready to harvest now. They can’t get the normal immigrant laborers due to the virus and other regulations. Wouldn’t it be grand if out-of-work US citizens went to work in the fields to help out the farmers, themselves, and the economy? :

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. China excluded those deaths and they got shit for it. Now those including it are catching shit for it. No sense in being frustrated. Just know the differences in how the #s are being reported and adjust accordingly.
