Besides being preoccupied with impeachment during this critical time, and politicians and the news telling everyone not to worry about the new virus because it's no big deal up through early March, the virus started spreading a long time ago.

Looking at the title of the thread, its sad that it even exists. Saw on the news this morning that there is going to be a massive shortage in food banks. Liked seeing the few $50k+ luxury cars in the mix waiting to get handouts. The ironic thing about all this is thanks to the Democratic Shutdown, millions may starve to death but at least we will save a few thousand from the coronavirus. Funny how the US media is now making this out to be a racist virus too and has no focus of the overall health of people. Hearing the stats of the people it is killing, if they had not died from the virus now, for a good portion and heart attack or stroke would have in the near future.

Yeah, this shutdown is really awful. The US economy will be devastated for years, but it should recover faster than the rest of the world. And as you said hopefully this will inspire manufacturers to bring more work back into the US. The govt will probably have to encourage or force this. We do need to be more self sufficient even if it costs more.

Newsom was the first gov to shut down a state and that might have slowed down the infections in CA and saved some lives.

IF I do get a check, not a chance in help Im helping those lazy people. Priorities in this country have gone to south. People shouldn't be *****ing about not having enough handouts. They should be complaining that they cant go to work.
