I appreciate the sentiments. The lack of physical contact is really difficult, even something as simple as holding hands. We have a rescue greyhound that it super affectionate, so that has been helpful. I really feel badly for those poor souls who are trapped in apartments in cities where you can't really go outside much. At least we have a small farm where I can get out and roam around with the hound.

Yeah there are outlets in the main bathroom and a heat lamp and a exhaust fan in the toilet room but no outlets.

If there are any 15 or 20A outlets in the main bathroom it might be possible to run an additional outlet to the toilet room to add a Toto washlet. We just added a second Toto and there were some challenges. Ultimately we were able to tap into an outlet that was on the back side of the toilet wall in a hallway. Of course that wasn't 20A since that specific unit only draws ~500W. We ran a dedicated 20A circuit in our master for the tankless Toto unit. The max draw of that one is ~1500W so a 20A is needed.

Winter is almost over in CO but with the TP shortage, it does help cut down usage. Might be TMI but I can get by with 3 squares per #2 just to wipe dry. The blower works too but sometimes I don't have the patience to sit and wait. :becky:

If people don't voluntarily self-quarantine and practice social distancing, then the government needs to step in and create rules to follow.

The house across the street from mine is coming down and a McMansion is going up. While it makes sense to do some of this during this time, it only makes sense if the workers practice social distancing.

this morning, two crew cabs and a van crammed with workers pulled up. Nobody is wearing a mask and the first thing they do is pop down the tailgate and stand around drinking coffee and shooting the breeze. Right now, two guys are standing in the rain, huddled together under an umbrella (must be supervisors) talking and pointing. If any one of those guys is sick, then there is a good chance that the other dozen just got sick. They'll now go back to their families and, I'm sure, some of those are in a higher risk category.

It will also be interesting to see if the church visits yesterday will cause any more outbreaks.

Good intentions do great harm if they lack understanding. We're seeing a healthy dose of it from many who are obedient to the government, and who don't question authorities. The death merchant politicians and newscasters and so called experts are promoting bad advice based on bad models built on bad data and bad assumptions. For example, some people still revere Dr Fauci, who is now claiming the administration should have acted earlier than it did to curtail travel with China, when he's on record at that time as stating the Wuhan virus is no big deal.

The urge to save humanity is almost always a front by some in government to expand their scope and reach. Generally totalitarians. We're seeing that in MI and other places as well. Clown world.

I'm kinda amazed people don't understand this. The medical system has limited capacity. If the normal spread will overwhelm the capacity (see NY) then the spread by the * 'murica and freedom* people will create a constraint on services available. That puts the people who do act in a socially conscious way at greater risk.

If you're willing to agree to not go to a hospital or seek medical care and die at home if that's the outcome, then you're actually living with the risk you're taking. If not - you're not only effecting yourself. It's not a particularly complicated idea here. If you want to be part of a society and take advantage of the benefits, you also get to live with the costs at times. If not - that's okay by me. But suffer at home without medical care when you get sick. Live up to what you claim you're doing.
