From what I've heard about the situation (I did not verify the following claim RE: Michigan constitution), Michigan constitution only allows a 28 day state of emergency called by the governor. After that she must sign an EO stating that the emergency is over and submit a request for an extension. The request would have to pass both house and senate. The opposition says she is now being tyrannical in illegally shutting down Michigan (since she did not follow procedure and submit a request for extension), thus the armed display of disapproval.
That's just what I've read from a right-wing source.

Yes, because requiring people to stay at home during a pandemic, paying them to do so, providing unemployment benefits and giving out free money to small and large businesses as fast as it can be printed is so similar to the causes of the Revolutionary War.

Nobody in MI likes this shut-down, but the overwhelming majority of people understand that sometimes drastic measures need to be taken to preserve the public heath. It won't go on forever, but it won't be over soon. The more that people go into public and behave like this, the longer and more deadly this crisis will be.

One good thing thats has come out of this catastrophe is that the wife and I have decided we cannot stay during retirement in New Jersey. Will are now actively looking at moving everything to Florida.

I hope that there won't be an accelerated mass exodus out of NJ. I want to leave, too, but I'm doing it to leave NYC area problems behind. I don't want loads of people bringing those problems with them.

If a post could have a smell the liberal posts I spoke of would have this smell. Since a post cannot have a smell one needs to describe a smell so that other could also figuratively smell it. Picture a room with people huffing farts and diddling sphincters. For me thats not a good smell and goes along well with the liberal posts.

Yeah, but the NYCers have been leaving NYC for NJ for decades already, even if it was just across the river. I'm more worried about the NJers who decide to go far, far away altogether. There are a bajillion of us.
