Check back in several weeks for the updated numbers. I suspect that they'll be pretty close to the nearly 70,000 that other sites are reporting.

In the US, 37,000 deaths from COVID-19 were reported 31 days from the day that the first 100 deaths were reported. We hit the 100 fatalities on March 17, so the 37k were on April 17 - which matches up with the "several weeks" from the site.

Let me see if I can clarify this for you. The CDC's NCHS is the "official" place for fatality counts. The doctors/hospitals report deaths to the coroners, the counties, then the states and it ultimately lands at the CDC - In events such as these, the official numbers are several weeks old but ultimately, the CDC will have the final numbers.

Johns Hopkins, Worldometer, RKI etc. get their numbers far faster from the original sources and are more up-to-date but a bit less precise - right now, Worldometer is reporting 68715 fatalities in the US and JH is reporting 68586, so different but close.

Think of JH, Worldometer and RKI as being like CARFAX - they report what is sent to them and is mostly accurate.

Unfortunately, you'll see the CDC reporting those 68k numbers in a couple of weeks.

You know from your military duties that numbers during the heat of the battle are rarely right and that some initial reports are completely wrong.

It's my opinion that they are not correct in what they are reporting based on their actions early on in this nonsense. I believe them to be a government sock puppet of sorts.

You know I found this site a month or so ago . The other one was the 1st I found for a 4Runner,So I joined. I have been on an FJ one along with Honda CBR Fireblades, Polaris ATV, Harley Davidson, FourWinns, Chaparral. I was banned from another 4Runner site for posting meme's of political satire/facts on this virus. I was "Re-instated" after 30 day ban and I was posting more "memes " on What I thought was a Helicopter forum I belong to Sunday Morning & was SO PO'd @ PA UEI because I've been furloughed since 20-MAR-2020 & yet to collect a $0.00 & my claim states "Inactive" YET can NOT get those MFR's to Answer the dam phone!! But It was the other site & I got a 7 day ban! Boo Hoo :biggrin2: I like that this site because is NOT so liberal that IF you post something Anti liberal YOU can still be a member to post.. Hey I got a new job ,started last Thursday , got $10k for their 1st offer in March & couple other $$ incentives, 21 mile commute!!! Yep Happy !!!
