Too bad manufacturing is just moving to other Asian countries and Mexico rather than back to the States. However, moving to Mexico has a lot of benefits IMO - the better that country does the better we do.

Total crap comes out of Mexico. Look at all the Ford and GM Mexican crap.
One of our switch suppliers moved production to Mexico from the USA. Their switches then starting failing a lot, and us, the people who bought their switches, were doing their primary quality assurance on it. It was the bonkers.

The 20A were actually 10A and kept blowing under everyday use.

My company, same problem with high rel miniature relays. US relay company set up operations in Mexico and quality suffered, wouldn’t survive thermal cycling in higher assembly. By the time we figured out their problem it cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars. Ultimately we designed their devices out of our products.

As for my Mexico comment, I wasn't talking about quality. I have opinions on quality from Asia as well. It really comes down to the company and the specs and qa they put in place.
I was saying the more jobs they have available in Mexico the less illegal immigration we should see in the US.

The Breitbarf story Richie linked complaining about the “fake” news about new coronavirus infections tipped its hand in the first paragraph. They revealed that they don’t care about people or the economy, only care about re-electing trump.
“ The most useless metric in America today is “new coronavirus cases.” Nevertheless, the fake news media are using this useless metric to spread panic, intimidate states into keeping us locked down, and destroy the economy in the hopes that destruction will also damage President Trump’s reelection chances.”
Oh, and BTW, I didn’t realize that the so-called fake American news media is so powerful that the *whole world* is fooled by it, and is only now slowly re-opening and monitoring their own new infection numbers to lock down again if needed.
