Hopefully not a stupid inquiry

So I've been trying to piece together my lift for the past little while. I have a 99 4x4. Which - correct me if I'm wrong - has a slightly taller stance as any other stock third gen (not including highlander edition).

My question is as I'm going for the LC coils in the rear and TRD Tundras in the front that the lift will be ~2.5-3 minus the original taller stance. As in, the numbers that are recorded as to the increased height over stock are from the lower stance of say a stock 96, 97 etc. So would I see less of a lift over my stock height?

I'm doing the lift regardless due to the weight I carry in the truck - I was just wondering how it would affect the angle of my cvs'. Does the diff sit an extra inch or so lower then to compensate for the higher stock ride height?

Thanks in advance

You are correct. The only difference in trucks with the tall coils is the coils themselves, no difference in differential location or anything like that. So, after this 2.5" lift you will only gain 1.5" over what you have now, and you will have the same CV angles as any other 3rd gen 4runner with a 2.5" lift. And those angles are completely managable. Think of it as when you take out your 99 coils, you go back down an inch to true stock height, then add the lift coils for 2.5" up from that. Its when you get over 3" lift that you need diff drops and CV repairs.

If you're interested in unloading your front coils, I've been looking for '99 talls. Please let me know!

Thanks,
Scott
