Horn Stopped working...Help Please

I notice my horns doesn't work also when I was installing my tran cooler. Realize that if it's oem horns, if thy are upside down they won't work. I flip it up and it work again, try it twice weird but that what I came across

I second the grounding issue...

I painted my horns to look like "hella" horns and when I was Done I installed them back and NO HORN!!!!!!

Ahhhh

The hole where you attach them was cover in paint and I had to scratch that away to get a good ground again.

Remove and reattach making sure there is a solid ground

I'll give it a shot but would the horn be working fine one day (presumably the ground was good) then not work the next day without having taken them out? Cuz it WAS working one day, next it didn't and I haven't done anything to the truck since they were last known to work.

As a former shop owner and lifelong wrench slinger, I heard that question a million times. "I don't understand, it was working fine yesterday, how can that be?"

Well, at some point it broke, or stopped working. End of story.

In your case since you tested the horn directly, I doubt that is your problem(grounding). Follow [MENTION=10169]TheDurk[/MENTION] 's advice and troubleshoot the wiring and relay. If you weren't on the other side of the world I'd have solved it for you in 10 minutes.

When you put the meter probes on the hot and ground wire of the harness where the horn connects, what voltage does it read?

Does it change if you jiggle the wires further back?

Basic troubleshooting. Start at one end and work back.

Well this has to be the stupidest thing ever...It ended up being the ground. Never would have thought to check that...didnt expect it to lose ground without me doing anything to it.

I ran a ground wire directly from the battery to the horn and boom, works.

The weird thing is that I bought an aftermarket horn a while back that has positive and negative terminals.... AND when you bolt it in, that TOO is a ground, just like the stock horn. So i had TWO grounds to that horn and it still didnt work until I ran a wire directly to the battery.

Problem solved....ground wire will be run directly to the battery. Thanks guys! Sometimes it's always the smallest things.

I figured it wasn’t clicking because of something to do with the relay or body ecu? I’m awful with electrical.
